The Fund for International Service Learning (FISL) announced the recipient of its Spring 2012 scholarships: Augsburg College student Amy Balto and Cassandra Hoblitz of the State University of New York at New Paltz. In the Spring of 2012, Amy will attend a program in the Galápagos through The International Partnership for Service Learning (IPSL) and Cassandra will attend IPSL's Chiang Mai, Thailand program.
In Amy's own words her program with IPSL "cohesively combines study abroad with volunteer service, understands a students' desire to see the world, but also their desire to help others" and provides "students with cultural immersion, a deep understanding of cultural and global issues, and an opportunity to truly make a difference in communities around the world."
FISL is honored to support Amy, Cassandra and others like them who participate in service learning programs across the world.
